ICFP ALUMNI NATIONAL CONGRESS ELECTS NEW BOARD FOR THE 2026–2030 PERIOD THROUGH A DEMOCRATIC VOTING PROCESS
DILI, 5 SEPTEMBER 2026 – The Dili Archdiocese Hall was filled with positive energy during the successful implementation of the 2026 ICFP Alumni National Congress, under the theme “ICFP Alumni as a Driving Force for Educational Quality in Timor-Leste.”
The event received strong support through financial assistance and partnership from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Culture (MESSK), including funding from the 2026 Public Subsidy Budget.
The main objective of this gathering was to provide an opportunity to strengthen the organization’s vision, particularly through the election of members of the ICFP Alumni Board, who will lead the organization for the 2026–2030 period.
Key Presentations and Discussions
During the event, the invited speakers, Mrs. Maria Madalena Lopes, Vice-President of INFORDERPE, and Mrs. Ester da Costa Correia, presented important insights regarding the performance and contributions of ICFP alumni in the field of education.
They recognized the alumni as teachers who graduated from ICFP and are currently practicing 21st-century pedagogy, with a strong focus on responding to the needs of their students.
Meanwhile, the President of the outgoing Alumni Board, Mrs. Maria Imaculada Conceição, presented a report on the organization’s activities and positive achievements. She also encouraged members to remain committed to their mandate and contribute actively to the continued development of the organization.
At another important moment, Mrs. Juvinália Antonia de Fátima Ribeiro, Vice-Director for Quality Affairs, delivered a message to the alumni:
“You have the responsibility to ensure that this organization continues to grow, particularly by strengthening fraternity, unity, and professionalism, as reflected in the Statutes of the ICFP Alumni Association (KA-ICFP) Baucau. Be proud of what you have achieved, but do not stop striving to find solutions to educational challenges, especially through scientific research together with the ICFP lecturers.”
Election Results: New Board for 2026–2030
The election process took place as a celebration of democracy. Through an online voting system, alumni members marked their attendance, while others participated through live streaming from different locations. Each member cast their vote for one of the two candidate packages.
The final results were as follows:
Package I
Received 48.7% of the votes.
The package consisted of:

Package II
Received 51.3% of the votes and was elected as the new leadership team.

• Elsa Bete Moruk
• Abilio de Carvalho
• Maria do R. Sávio
With this result, Package II assumes the responsibility of providing leadership and carrying forward the vision of the ICFP Alumni Association for the next four years.
