The devotion of the way of the cross or “Via Crucis” happened for the first time in ICFP.

In ICFP, 07 March 2024, ICFP as a Catholic institution together with its staff and students on the first Friday of March, began to do this devotion with the objective to unite with the suffering of Christ and reflect our sins.
The Way of the Cross devotion appeared in Jerusalem in the 14th century and was introduced by the Franciscan congregation, after becoming common in the Catholic Church in the 17th century.
The Way of the Cross or “Via Crucis” is a Catholic devotion that commemorates Jesus' suffering and death, usually done every Friday during Lent. The devotion consists of 14 stations, each of which describes an important event in Jesus' journey. Catholics remember Jesus’ suffering and sacrifice through prayer and meditation at each season.
