WORKSHOP ON INTEGRATED QUALITATIVE METHODOLOGY: DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES

The workshop was held over two days, from 11 to 12 June 2026, and was specially organized for ICFP lecturers to strengthen their knowledge and improve the quality of their research practices.
This activity was made possible through financial support from the public subsidy budget of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Culture (MESSK).
The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Janu Arlinwibowo, M.Pd., a researcher from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Indonesia.
During the two-day program, participants explored several important topics related to qualitative research methodology, including:
Qualitative Data Analysis
Participants learned the essential stages of qualitative data analysis, including:
• Data transcription
• Data reduction
• Coding processes
• Theme development
• Preparation of qualitative research findings and summaries
In addition, participants studied secondary data analysis, focusing on how to accurately synthesize findings from previous studies. This process helps researchers build a strong conceptual foundation and examine real-world phenomena in a systematic and reliable manner.
Application of CAQDAS
The workshop also provided hands-on training in the use of Computer-Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS), including:
• NVivo
• MRN 3.0
• RStudio
Through these practical sessions, participants gained valuable experience in managing, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative research data using modern digital tools.
The workshop reflects ICFP’s ongoing commitment to enhancing research capacity among its academic staff and promoting high-quality scholarly work that contributes to educational development and innovation.
