Marist Leader visit ICFP - 19 november 2024
The regional leader of the Marist Brothers and some members of his leadership team, together with two members of the World Marist Leadership group, visited Baucau the 19 November 2024. They met with local Brothers, friends and colleagues.
Br Peter Carroll, Australian, provincial chairman of the Marist province 'Star of the Sea' which includes brothers from eighteen countries. Australia, New Zealand, Timor-Leste, Samoa, Fiji, Kiribati, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Cambodia.
Accompanied by other Australians, Br Darren Bruge, Vice-Provincial, and member of the provincial council, Br Sefo Une, from Samoa, and Br Greg McDonald, from Timor-Leste, and two General Councillors, who live in Rome. Br Joseph Maria from Spain and Br Ben Consigli from the United States. Br Kevin Wanden, provincial secretary, from New Zealand, also came with them.
They will come to ICFP on November 19, 2024 morning to meet with staff and see the facility. A group of students welcomed them with traditional dances, and tara tais, then joined the staff for morning coffee. Br Paul from ICFP met with the visitors in the conference room and talked about the history of the institute, then accompanied them on a tour of the main building.
The brothers were very pleased to meet with the staff and students and expressed their gratitude for the good work done at ICFP.
During their time in Bauca, the Brothers met with Bishop Leandro Maria Alves and several religious congregation leaders.
It is a great privilege for ICFP to host these brothers.
